This highly practical two-day course is designed to improve your understanding of fracture mechanics and bone healing and to give you confidence in decision making and applying your surgical skills when presented with a fracture. The emphasis of this course will be on the kind of cases that present on a regular basis in practice. Both days will include seminars and hands-on cadaver practice.

Course Description

Course Objectives
At the end of this workshop delegates should be able to:

Assess a bone fracture and make an appropriate treatment plan

Understand and apply principles relating to bone healing, fracture biomechanics, and intramedullary pinning

Know how to avoid and treat complications

Use cerclage wiring and small pins

Apply bone plates and screws
-
Be comfortable with the soft tissue approaches to common long bone fractures

This two-day course is an excellent overview of fracture management and will teach you a variety of orthopaedic surgery techniques, allowing you to offer fracture repair as a service to your clients.
