Course Description

This highly practical workshop is designed to improve your understanding of stifle biomechanics and patellar luxation pathophysiology. Delegates will have the opportunity for hands-on practice of the taught techniques on cadavers in the afternoon wet-lab. At the conclusion, delegates should feel confident in managing patients with patellar luxation.

Course Objectives

At the end of this workshop delegates should be able to:

  • Use the grading system and pre-operative appraisal to direct therapy

  • Apply appropriate techniques to surgically correct differing grades of patella luxation

  • Perform a TTT, sulcoplasty, desmotomy and lateral imbrication under expert guidance

Value to Your Practice

The instability of the canine stifle due to a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament is commonly seen in small animal practices. This highly practical workshop is designed to improve your understanding of this procedure and techniques required to surgically manage patients with torn CCL, to bring stability back to your patient with confidence.

Attending this workshop will equip you with the knowledge to understand the pathophysiology of this condition and be able to formulate customized treatment plans for the benefit of your patients.
