Course Description

Hip luxation is the most frequently reported joint luxation in small animal practice, usually resulting from trauma or severe hip dysplasia. This highly practical workshop is designed to improve your understanding of the anatomy of the hip joint and to teach you techniques required to surgically manage patients with hip luxation with confidence.

Course Objectives

At the end of this workshop delegates should be able to:

  • Determine the best surgical plan for a patient with hip luxation

  • Surgically manage hip luxation

  • Update your knowledge on hip dysplasia and juvenile pubic symphysiodesis

Value to Your Practice

Hip luxation is the most frequently reported joint luxation in small animal practice, usually resulting from trauma or severe hip dysplasia. Attending this workshop will allow you to surgically treat these patients with confidence, as the high frequency of recurrence after closed reduction often makes it a suboptimal option.
