Course Description

This one-day workshop is designed for novices to Point-of-Care Ultrasonography. A morning session of lectures is going to take you through the basic theory using case examples and a variety of normal and abnormal images. This will be followed by an afternoon of hands-on training in which the capabilities of the Clarius® (a new wireless portable ultrasound device) will be demonstrated.

Course Objectives

At the end of this workshop delegates should be able to:

• Acquire foundation skills in Point-of-Care Ultrasonography of the abdomen and thorax

• Gain confidence with ultrasonography devices and probe manipulation

• Perform basic Point-of-Care Ultrasonography and interpret findings
