Workshop Description
During this workshop, participants will learn the principles of fracture repair methods to treat fractures of the pelvis, subtrohanteric femur, and ilial. Participants will also learn techniques used to repair distal/articular humeral fractures. Fractures involving the joint surface require anatomic reduction and rigid stabilization to reduce the chance of osteoarthritis and produce a positive outcome. This course will also address pancarpal and pantarsal arthrodesis and bone graphs. This workshop will familiarize participants with advanced fracture repair techniques through lecture and clinical case presentations. Following lecture and case review, participants will repair fractures on plastic bone models and cadavers. Postoperative management will be discussed. Postoperative radiographs will be taken to evaluate the participants' repair technique. Along with registration, there is free enrollment in our online Principles of Fracture Repair Course (3 CE RACE approved) that allows registrants to obtain a foundation of knowledge prior to the course.
