Join us on October 4-5th 2024 for the Fracture Management workshop sponsored by Kahuvet at The Kahuvet Education Center in Auckland, New Zealand!

This highly practical two-day course is designed to improve your understanding of fracture mechanics and bone healing and to give you confidence in decision making and applying your surgical skills when presented with a fracture. The emphasis of this course will be on the kind of cases that present on a regular basis in practice. Both days will include seminars and hands-on cadaver practice.

Course Description

This highly practical two-day course is designed to improve your understanding of fracture mechanics and bone healing, and to give you confidence in decision making and applying your surgical skills when presented with a fracture. The emphasis of this course will be on the kind of cases that present on a regular basis in practice. Both days will include seminars and hands-on cadaver practice.

Key Skills:

At the end of this workshop delegates should be able to:

  • Assess a bone fracture and make an appropriate treatment plan

  • Understand and apply principles relating to bone healing, fracture biomechanics, and intramedullary pinning

  • Know how to avoid and treat complications

  • Use cerclage wiring and small pins

  • Apply bone plates and screws

  • Be comfortable with the soft tissue approaches to common long bone fractures

This two-day course is an excellent overview of fracture management and will teach you a variety of orthopaedic surgery techniques, allowing you to offer fracture repair as a service to your clients.
