Inside the Webinar

Radiography is utilized every day in small animal general practice, but how often are its capabilities put to work intraoperatively? For clinics that perform a variety of surgical procedures, intraoperative imaging and fluoroscopy can improve workflows and expand the level of care offered in general practice.

In this webinar with Dr. Caleb Hudson, explore intraoperative radiography and fluoroscopy and their basic definitions. A brief, clinically relevant description of the technology behind commonly available intraoperative imaging systems will be reviewed, along with benefits for both the patient and the surgeon.  Dr. Hudson will also review common soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures in which intraoperative imaging can be incorporated and how operating room setup and case-flow can be designed to streamline the incorporation of radiography and fluoroscopy.  Attendees will leave with a firm understanding of the benefits of intraoperative radiography and fluoroscopy and how this imaging technology can be effectively applied in practice.

What You'll Learn

  • How intraoperative radiography and fluoroscopy allow imaging to be utilized in the operating room during surgery

  • How technological advances such as wireless cassettes and small, lightweight imaging generators make intraoperative radiography practical and easy to implement

  • The advantages of using intraoperative imaging, regardless of whether the surgeries are performed with an open or minimally invasive approach

  • How intraoperative radiography and fluoroscopy are valuable imaging tools that can improve surgical outcomes and decrease surgical time
