Intra-articular fractures, peri-articular fractures and pelvic fractures are challenging to manage if not correctly classified and treated with a proper selection of implants. You’ve been through a Basic Fracture Course. You have some experience with Bone Plating of Long Bone Fractures. Now, you are ready to gain experience with the more challenging fractures seen in your small animal patients. 

In this course, you will focus on such types of Complex Fractures using bone plates applied in compression, neutral and bridging fashions. Postoperative radiographs will be acquired to assess the participant’s repair technique. This course is appropriate for specialists, residents, and orthopedic enthusiasts in general practice with existing Basic Fracture repair experience and interest in advancing their decision-making skills and treatment of complex fracture.

Course Requirements:

Successful completion of a Basic Fracture Course. Prior to the course, participants are required to review the pertinent surgical anatomy and approaches.

Learning Objectives:

·        Following this course, participants will have gained the knowledge and skill to approach and stabilize ilial body fractures

·        Following this course, participants will have gained the knowledge and skill to approach and stabilize distal periarticular femoral fractures.

·        Following this course, participants will have gained the knowledge and skill to approach and stabilize fractures in and around the elbow joint.
