Course
BioMedtrix Universal Hip Mentorship Program - Small Breeds
The Universal Hip Mentorship Program – Small Breeds is an advanced training pathway designed for surgeons who have completed the BioMedtrix Small Breeds Hip Replacement Workshop and wish to progress toward performing clinical total hip replacements (THR) in small breed dogs and cats. Participation in this program incurs an additional fee and provides structured, expert-guided development to ensure surgeons achieve the skill, confidence, and conceptual understanding required for consistently successful clinical outcomes.
Completion of the program is a prerequisite for purchasing BioMedtrix Universal Hip Small Breeds implants for clinical use. Through a combination of case assessment, hands‑on experience, and professional evaluation, participants demonstrate competency in key surgical concepts and decision-making processes fundamental to achieving positive total hip replacement results.
Program Structure
The mentorship program follows a consistent two-part structure:
Part 1: Case Evaluation
Participants submit case materials for review, including radiographs and evaluation forms, to demonstrate understanding of preoperative planning, anatomical assessment, and appropriate implant selection.
Part 2: Clinical Case Mentoring
Surgeons receive individualized expert guidance as they transition to performing clinical THR procedures independently, ensuring competence and confidence in real-world application.
Eligibility
Participants must have completed:
- BioMedtrix Universal Hip Standard and Large Breeds Mentorship Program through Part 1: Case Evaluation
