Course Description
This practical and insightful session is designed for general practice veterinarians of all experience levels who are involved in managing post-tumor wound closure in dogs. The lecture provides clear, step-by-step guidance on fundamental reconstructive techniques, including second intention healing, advancement flaps, Z-plasty, flank fold flaps and axial pattern flaps. This workshop will also focus on commonly encountered anatomical sites such as the extremities, ventral abdomen, lateral thigh, and lateral thorax.
Delegates will have plenty of opportunity to practice surgical techniques in a wet-lab setting.

At the end of this workshop, delegates should be able to:
- Deciding on an approach to the patient with a large traumatic or surgical wound.
- Know the facets of open wound management and second intention healing.
- Use basic and advanced reconstruction techniques for large open wounds.
