Join us on June 12th, 2026 for our Practical Dental Radiography for Vet Nurses workshop at the Advanced Centre for Education (ACE) in Lane Cove, Australia!
This immersive one-day workshop is designed to refine and strengthen the practical competencies of veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and technicians in small animal dental radiology, which is a foundational skill in small animal veterinary dentistry. Participants will engage in hands-on practice, supported by direct supervision and tailored guidance from experienced tutors.
The workshop focuses on acquiring diagnostic-quality intraoral radiographs, with structured opportunities to practice technique refinement and troubleshoot common errors. Equipment handling and maintenance are covered in depth for nurses and technicians, ensuring confidence in daily practice.

Course Description
For Veterinary Nurses, the course introduces core principles of radiographic interpretation, including recognition of normal anatomy, key landmarks, and common dental and oral pathologies. Emphasis is placed on integrating radiographic findings into treatment planning to support accurate diagnosis and optimal patient outcomes.
Key Skills
At the end of this workshop delegates will be able to:
- Confidently capture high-quality, diagnostic full-mouth dental radiographs in dogs and cats. (Vets and nurses/ Technicians)
- Apply advanced radiographic techniques to image challenging anatomical regions (such as areas affected by the zygomatic arch and brachycephalic breeds) to enhance diagnostic yield (Vets and nurses/ Technicians)
- Troubleshoot and correct common technical errors during image acquisition (Vets and nurses/ Technicians)
- Correctly use, maintain and care for dental radiographic equipment (Veterinary Nurses/Technicians)
- Interpret dental radiographs to recognise normal anatomy, anatomical landmarks, and common dental and oral pathologies. (Vets)
- Integrate radiographic findings into treatment planning to support accurate diagnosis and improve patient outcomes. (Vets)
