Key Skills
At the end of this workshop delegates should be able to:
- Assess and triage the acute trauma patient
- Classify commonly encountered fractures
- Understand fracture biomechanics and bone healing
- Understand the theory and application of screws, plates, cerclage wire, intramedullary pins, and Kirschner wires
- Formulate suitable fracture reduction and stabilisation techniques for commonly encountered fractures
- Understand surgical approaches to commonly encountered fractures
- Formulate an appropriate postoperative management plan
