Note: Completion of the KYON Total Hip Replacement Workshop as well as extensive clinical experience are required to register for this workshop. A minimum of 25 documented THR cases (stem size >6mm) performed in the past 3 years have to be demonstrated.
Workshop Description
This 2-day workshop consists of classroom instructions and extensive hands-on laboratory experience. This multi-faceted approach to education is designed to offer participants the necessary resources and support to sufficiently familiarize themselves with the procedure, and to embark on the journey of offering an advanced orthopedic service to their clientele.
Workshop Objectives
This stand-alone Mini THR Workshop is directed at veterinary surgeons who are currently active with standard-sized KYON THR systems and have acquired extensive experience with this system.
This workshop will concentrate on the specifics of performing THR surgeries on feline or small dog patients. Surgeons will learn the special features of the KYON Mini THR system and will be given the opportunity to practice the technique in multiple wet labs. Individual performances will be reviewed followed by discussion of clinical experience and best practices for Mini THR.
The primary objective of this workshop is to communicate the differences and difficulties of performing Mini THR surgery, practice in a wet lab setting, and review the cases as a group.
Surgeons completing the workshop will be eligible to purchase the KYON Mini Total Hip Replacement System.
Requirements
Completion of the KYON THR Workshop as well as extensive clinical experience are required to register for this workshop. A minimum of 25 documented THR cases performed in the past 3 years have to be demonstrated.
