Course Description

On each day In the morning lectures, participants will gain confidence identifying cases they can treat themselves versus those that should be referred for “someone else’s headache”. In the afternoon, attendees will have the opportunity to practice performing arthrodesis on cadavers.

Key Skills

  • Learn the fundamentals of performing arthrodesis, including joint preparation, grafting and fixation techniques
  • Develop key decision-making skills including where arthrodesis is preferable to joint reconstruction, identifying high risk factors, avoidance and management of complications
  • Discover ways to differentiate those cases where partial rather than pan-joint arthrodesis can be used to maintain more normal function

Value to Your Practice

Attendees will gain confidence in identifying and treating carpal and tarsal derangement within their own practice. The surgical skills they learn can be applied to appropriate cases and they will feel more certain in identifying cases they can manage within their practice.
