Workshop Description

This In-Person Mentorship is a 4-day assessment allowing you to participate in practice cases as part of the THR Mentorship Program and is available for 10 delegates. It is intended for surgeons who have completed the BioMedtrix Universal Hip Workshop and still need to complete the cadaver evaluation pathway.

  • First day: Preoperative radiographs will be taken in time slots (assigned time slots will be communicated at a later time).
  • Second day: An experienced BioMedtrix instructor oversees and directs each group/lab station.
  • Third and fourth day: Attendees perform their practice cases independently.

Each practice case is reviewed by Dr. Schiller before the attendee begins their next case. Delegates will be given the opportunity to complete 4 hips each, but this is not guaranteed. A pass on each hip is not guaranteed.
Surgeons are advised to bring one scrub nurse with them each, but they will not be allowed to assist withradiographs.

The registration fee covers all supplies needed to perform a minimum of four (4) cadaver cases, surgical direction from an experienced BioMedtrix instructor on day 1, case review of all practice cases, and on-site catering.

Surgeons typically work in groups of two and are expected to take all pre- and postoperative radiograph images.

Note: It is highly recommended a lead surgery technician or nurse attend, and work alongside the registered surgeon.
