Workshop Description
This workshop combines theoretical sessions with practical labs to provide a comprehensive learning experience in advanced surgical treatment strategies for patellar luxation.
- Patellar Luxation Classification & Patient Selection: Understanding different types of patellar luxation and criteria for selecting appropriate patients.
- Surgical Decision-Making: Comparing surgical options like Patellar Groove Replacement (PGR), trochleoplasty, and Sulcoplasty with Cranial Tibial Tuberosity Transposition (SCRT).
- Surgical Techniques & Outcomes:
Patellar Groove Replacement: Techniques and expected outcomes.
SCRT: Techniques and expected outcomes. - Indication for Corrective Osteotomies: Identifying when corrective osteotomies are necessary.
- Managing Complex Cases with TPLO-Offset Plates: Strategies for handling complex cases involving Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) with offset plates.
- Practical Sessions:
Lab 1: Hands-on practice with SCRT and PGR on plastic bones.
Lab 2: Hands-on practice with TPLO-Offset Plates on plastic bones. - Q&A and Workshop Wrap-Up: Addressing participant questions and summarizing key takeaways.
