Workshop Description and Objectives
No orthopedic surgery experience? No Problem. This 1 day course is for you. Designed for the novice surgeon and shelter medicine veterinarian, this comprehensive laboratory course will discuss how to diagnose and treat some of the most common disorders and injuries of the hips of dogs and cats. Participants will learn how to quickly diagnose hip problems using signalment, orthopedic examination, and radiographic findings. Surgical techniques for the hip that will be discussed include hip luxation, hip dysplasia, avascular necrosis, trochanteric fractures, as well as fractures of the femoral head and neck. Participants will perform selected procedures on plastic bone models and cadavers. Space is limited. Max capacity: 32 participants. Reserve your space today!
Prerequisites
This workshop is appropriate for specialist and general practitioners who have an interest in improving their orthopedic knowledge and skills.
CE Credits - RACE Approval
