Workshop Description
No orthopedic surgery experience? No problem! This course is designed for the Novice Veterinary Surgeon. Patella Luxation is a common developmental orthopedic problem. In this course, we will take the Novice Veterinary Surgeon through the lateral approach to the stifle, and the common surgeries to address grade 1-2 Medial Patella Luxation (MPL) including sulcoplasty (trochleoplasty), tibial tuberosity transposition, lateral anti-rotational suture, desmotomy and imbrication with plastic bone models and cadavers. Participants will be able to take these new skills back to their practice immediately and have a positive impact on their patients' lives. Space is limited. Max capacity: 32 participants.
