Canine hip dysplasia remains one of the most common yet complex orthopedic challenges in veterinary medicine. This lecture, led by board-certified surgeon Dr. Stanley Kim, moves beyond basic diagnostics to focus on the nuances of clinical decision-making. Practitioners will explore how to interpret radiographic findings, nuances to examination of the canine hip, and balanced decision making for both surgical and medical treatment options.

By focusing on a "patient-first" approach, this session aims to refine your ability to provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to clients, ensuring optimal mobility and quality of life for their pets. Real clinical cases will be used to illustrate practical strategies, common pitfalls, and the thought process behind selecting procedures such as total hip replacement, giving attendees a surgeon’s perspective on when major intervention truly benefits the patient.

By the end of this 1-hour lecture, participants will better understand the following:

1. Recognize key clinical and radiographic features of canine hip dysplasia and integrate these findings with orthopedic examination to guide diagnosis.
