Workshop Description
TPLO has become widely favored among general and specialized veterinarians for treating CrCL tears in dogs of all sizes. This technique stabilizes the stifle joint by addressing cranial tibial thrust. It is particularly effective for both partial and complete tears of the CrCL. This interactive course will feature lectures and hands-on laboratories designed to educate participants on the theory and practice of tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO).
During the course, participants will have the opportunity to perform TPLO procedures on artificial bones and cadavers using advanced equipment and implants. The course will emphasize the use of locking plate technology, which aims to simplify the procedure, enhance precision, and reduce complications.
Participants are expected to possess a fundamental understanding of stifle anatomy, surgical approaches, and the principles of applying bone plates.
Postoperative radiographs will be conducted to evaluate participants' surgical techniques, and there will be discussions on postoperative care and management.
