Workshop Description

Cranial cruciate ligament (CrCL) insufficiency is a frequently encountered issue in the canine. Effectively addressing this condition requires precise diagnosis and evaluation. This course aims to deliver current insights into the causes, development, diagnosis, and treatment of CrCL insufficiency. Through a combination of lectures and practical sessions, attendees will gain proficiency in techniques applicable to real-world scenarios. Key learning objectives include distinguishing between partial and complete CrCL tears, mastering isometric extracapsular repair of the stifle, addressing meniscal tears, and employing advanced technology and surgical methods for meniscal release. Practical sessions will provide hands-on experience with cadavers and bone models, enabling participants to refine their skills. Additionally, postoperative radiographs will be utilized to evaluate the effectiveness of repair techniques. Detailed discussions on postoperative care, along with the identification and management of both intraoperative and postoperative complications, will be integral components of the course.

Postoperative radiographs will be taken to assess the participant's repair technique. Postoperative management will also be discussed.
