Description

Following the KYON Mini Total Hip Replacement Workshop, the next step in the pathway is completing the KYON Mini THR Wet Lab Case Evaluation as part of the KYON Mini THR Mentorship Program. The aim is to gain more wet lab practice and to be assessed on these cases before proceeding to clinical cases (for details, please refer to the KYON THR Education Pathway).

A minimum of 3 wet lab cases must be successfully performed with a score of 15 points or more. 

This in-person evaluation offers a unique opportunity to practice additional wet lab cases and, depending on your performance, potentially complete the assessment within four days. Please note that passing is not guaranteed, as it is contingent on the quality of the procedures and the scores of your submitted cases.

If you successfully pass the evaluation, you will be eligible to purchase Mini THR implants for your first two clinical cases.

Participating in this in-person session saves you the time and effort of organizing your own small breed dog and cat wet lab cases at your clinic. It also allows you to progress more efficiently through the KYON Mini THR Mentorship Program, as assessors will grade your submissions on-site and provide immediate feedback and scores.

Assessment Objectives

Within this assessment, participants will enhance their skills and gain confidence in the Mini THR procedure by practicing intensive wet lab surgeries under assessment conditions.

The successful completion of the KYON Mini THR Wet Lab Case Evaluation qualifies surgeons as eligible to purchase Mini THR implants for their first two clinical cases.

Prerequisites

This practical assessment is appropriate for orthopedic surgeons with at least five years of experience in surgical procedures and with good knowledge and practice of infection prevention.
