Before You Register

You must have already completed the KYON Total Hip Replacement Workshop before attending the KYON THR Wet Lab Case Evaluation.

Assessment Description

Following the KYON Total Hip Replacement Workshop, the next step in the pathway is completing the KYON THR Wet Lab Case Evaluation as part of the KYON THR Mentorship Program. The aim is to gain more wet lab practice and to be assessed on these cases before proceeding to clinical cases (see the KYON THR Education Pathway for details).

A minimum of 3 wet lab cases must be successfully performed with a score of 15 points or more.

This in-person evaluation offers a unique opportunity to practice additional wet lab cases and, depending on your performance, potentially complete the assessment within five days. Passing is not guaranteed, as it is contingent on the quality of the procedures and the scores of your submitted cases.

If you successfully pass the evaluation, you will be eligible to purchase standard-size THR implants for your first two clinical cases.

Participating in this in-person session saves you the time and effort of organizing your own wet lab cases at your clinic, and allows you to progress more efficiently through the KYON THR Mentorship Program, as assessors will grade your submissions on-site and provide immediate feedback and scores.

Assessment Objectives

Within this assessment, participants will enhance their skills and gain confidence in the THR procedure by practicing intensive wet lab surgeries under assessment conditions.

Successful completion of the KYON THR Wet Lab Case Evaluation qualifies surgeons to purchase standard-size THR implants for their first two clinical cases.

Prerequisites

This practical assessment is appropriate for orthopedic surgeons with at least five years of experience in surgical procedures and with good knowledge and practice of infection prevention.

Completion of the KYON Total Hip Replacement Online Course Path and the KYON Total Hip Replacement Workshop is mandatory before attending.

Movora provides all equipment and materials for each workshop and assessment. Please bring your laptop, scrubs, and proper shoes for the laboratory setting.
