Description

Following the KYON Total Hip Replacement Workshop, the next step in the pathway is completing the KYON THR Wet Lab Case Evaluation. The aim is to gain more wet lab practice and to be assessed on wet lab cases before proceeding to clinical cases  (for details, please refer to the KYON THR Education Pathway).

A minimum of 3 wet lab cases must be successfully performed. 3 of these cases have to score 15 points or more, and none should include any fatal flaws.

This KYON THR Skills Assessment gives you the unique opportunity to practice further wet lab cases and the chance to potentially complete the KYON THR Skills assessment within three days, depending on the success of the procedures performed. Passing of the assessment cannot be guaranteed as this is performance dependent and based on the scores of the submitted cases.

If you pass the KYON THR Wet Lab Case Evaluation, you will be eligible to purchase standard-size THR implants for your first two clinical cases.
The KYON THR In-Person Wet Lab Case Evaluation saves you the effort of organizing your own wet lab cases in your clinic and enables you to proceed more quickly through the KYON THR Education Pathway, as your submissions will be graded on site by the assessors, and you will receive immediate feedback and scores.

NOTE: You must have already completed the KYON Total Hip Replacement Workshop before attending this workshop.

Assessment Objectives

Within this assessment, participants will enhance their skills and gain confidence in the THR procedure by practising intensive wet lab surgeries under assessment conditions.

The successful completion of the KYON THR Wet Lab Case Evaluation qualifies surgeons as eligible to purchase standard-size THR implants for their first two clinical cases.

Prerequisites

This practical assessment is appropriate for orthopaedic surgeons with at least five years of experience in surgical procedures and with good knowledge and practice of infection prevention.

Completion of the KYON THR Online Course Path and the KYON Total Hip Replacement Workshop is mandatory before attending the workshop.
